Booking and planning your move

Most problems on move day trace back to decisions made in the week before it. These are the questions worth settling early.

How early should I book packers and movers in Surat?

Five to seven days ahead is comfortable for a move within Surat, and ten to fourteen days for an intercity move where a dedicated vehicle has to be blocked. Booking earlier matters most around month-end, the first week of the month, weekends and festival periods, when both crews and society lifts are in heavy demand across Adajan, Vesu and Katargam. We do take same-day and next-day bookings when a crew is free, but the choice of vehicle and slot narrows.

Is the pre-move survey really free?

Yes. A move manager visits your home, or does a video walkthrough if that is easier, lists the inventory room by room and checks floor, lift and truck access at both ends. There is no charge and no obligation, and it is what lets us quote a fixed price instead of an estimate that drifts upward later.

Can you move on a Sunday or a public holiday?

Yes, and for office relocations we actively prefer weekends so your business loses no working hours. For household moves, check your society's rules first — many buildings in Surat restrict lift use for shifting on certain days or after specific hours.

What should I do the day before the move?

Defrost and dry the refrigerator, back up computers, charge your phone, keep medicines, chargers, documents and a change of clothes in a separate bag you carry yourself, and confirm lift and parking permission with both societies in writing. Tell your move manager about anything unusual — a glass tabletop, an aquarium, a treadmill, a narrow staircase — so the right material and crew size arrive.

Cost, quotation and payment

Full tables are on the pricing page; these are the questions that decide whether a quotation is trustworthy.

How much do packers and movers charge in Surat?

Local moves inside Surat typically run ₹3,500–₹7,000 for a 1 BHK, ₹6,000–₹12,000 for a 2 BHK and ₹10,000–₹18,000 for a 3 BHK with material and labour included. Intercity is higher — a 2 BHK from Surat to Mumbai usually falls between ₹22,000 and ₹36,000. See the pricing guide for route-by-route ranges and the factors that move the number.

What makes the final price different from the phone estimate?

Volume most of all — people routinely underestimate how much a home holds. After that: floor level and whether the lift works, how much packing the fragiles need, furniture that must be dismantled by a carpenter, and access for the truck at both ends. This is exactly why we survey before quoting, so the written number is the number you pay.

Do you give a GST invoice?

Yes, on every booking. Ask for one from any mover — it is proof the company is registered, and it is what your employer needs if relocation is being reimbursed.

How much advance do I need to pay?

A modest booking advance blocks your date, crew and vehicle; the balance is settled on delivery. Always pay against a receipt, and be wary of anyone asking for a large upfront payment before a survey or a written quotation.

Packing, handling and what is included

What the crew brings, what they do with it, and what stays your responsibility.

Are packing materials included in the price?

Yes. Corrugated cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film, corrugated rolls, tape and corner protection are all part of the quotation, cut to your inventory. Wooden crating for high-value or fragile items such as marble tops, artwork or premium motorcycles is quoted as an add-on because it is built to size.

Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?

Yes. Modular wardrobes, beds, dining tables, TV units, bunk beds and gym equipment are dismantled by a carpenter at the origin and reassembled at the destination. Fittings and screws are bagged and labelled against the item so nothing goes missing between the two ends.

Do you unpack at the new home?

Unloading and room-wise placement is always included. Full unpacking — opening cartons, placing items in cupboards and removing all packing debris — is included on request; tell your move manager in advance so the crew is scheduled for the extra hours.

What will you not transport?

Cash, jewellery and legal documents should travel with you personally. We cannot carry hazardous goods such as gas cylinders, fuel, paints or explosives, and we advise against perishable food and live plants on long intercity moves. Society, lift and parking permissions have to be arranged by the resident.

How are fragile items protected?

Glassware and crockery are individually wrapped and packed in compartmented cartons with cushioning on all six sides. Televisions and monitors get corner protection and, where possible, their original boxes. Mirrors and glass tops are sandwiched between corrugated sheets and edge-guarded. Fragile cartons are labelled and loaded last so nothing is stacked on them.

Transit, tracking and insurance

What happens between your old door and your new one.

How long does delivery take?

A local Surat move is normally completed the same day. Within Gujarat expect one to two days, Mumbai and Pune two to three, Delhi and Jaipur three to five, and the southern metros five to eight. Shared part-load consignments wait for a full vehicle and take a little longer than a dedicated truck.

Can I track my goods?

Yes. Vehicles are GPS-tracked and your move manager shares status updates through the journey, so you know when to be at the new address rather than waiting all day.

How does transit insurance work?

You declare the value of your goods and the policy is issued against that declared value, generally costing between one and three percent of it. If something is damaged in transit, the claim is filed with the inventory list, the packing record and photographs of the damage. We recommend it for every intercity move; for a short local shift with a modest inventory it is optional.

What happens if something is damaged?

Tell your move manager before signing the delivery acknowledgement and photograph the item and its packing. The signed inventory taken at pickup is the reference point, which is why we ask you to check and sign it before loading. Where the item is insured, we help you file and follow up the claim.

Vehicles, offices and other services

Beyond household goods.

Can I move my car or bike along with household goods?

Yes, and it is usually cheaper than booking them separately. A two-wheeler travels secured in the same vehicle, away from cartons and furniture. Cars move on a carrier, which can be arranged to arrive within the same window as your household consignment.

How do you keep office downtime short?

We plan the move around your working hours — typically starting Friday evening or over a weekend — label every workstation and its cables against a floor plan for the new office, pack files in sealed, numbered boxes, and reassemble so staff walk into a working desk on Monday. IT equipment is packed separately with anti-static wrap.

Do you handle single items or small loads?

Yes. Bachelor shifting, a few cartons, one wardrobe or a single appliance can go on a shared part-load consignment, which is far cheaper than paying for a dedicated vehicle you would not fill.

Which areas of Surat do you serve?

All of them — Adajan, Vesu, Althan, Piplod, Pal, Palanpur, Athwa, City Light, Katargam, Varachha, Mota Varachha, Udhna, Sachin, Pandesara, Rander, Bhatar, Dumas Road, Amroli and the surrounding belt including Kamrej, Bardoli and Olpad, with the same crew standards and the same written pricing everywhere.
